August Newsletter

August is upon us and we get to enjoy our awesome neighborhood pool for one last month. Please be aware that our pool hours will change once the kiddos go back to school on Aug 12. See back to school hours below. Mark your calendar for Aug 13 for our Back to School Bash at the pool, sponsored by our social committee! Also, we’ve had several crazy storms this summer and our umbrellas have been damaged as a result. Thanks to the diligence of resident volunteers they have been repaired and are back up and ready for use! Please be mindful of not using the umbrellas on windy days and lowering the umbrellas when you leave the pool area. We need to preserve the life of this investment to our pool area!

Social Committee Reminder Our Social Committee is always in need of funds and volunteers. These and many other community events are only made possible through the generous donations of our residents. The social committee has set up a donation account through Venmo. So please consider giving. No amount too small! Venmo donations to: @ihrsocial If you would like to get involved with this committee, please contact Amanda Volk Elliott through our Facebook page or email us at info@ironhorseranchhoa.com Thank you, Social Committee, for being a huge part of what makes this neighborhood so great! Volunteer spotlight Mike McCabe (Cimarron) You don’t have to be on the board or join a committee to make a difference. We had an Iron Horse resident do just that! Mike emailed us and said he didn’t want be on the board or join a committee; he just wanted to help out with any odd jobs that may arise in the neighborhood. At the time we didn’t have an immediate, pressing need. But Mike took a look around and found things to do in the neighborhood, such as cleaning the cobwebs from all the lights at all three entrances and guard shack and replacing lightbulbs as needed. These small things make a huge difference! And when the wind storm destroyed four of our large umbrellas in the pool area Mike said let me try and repair those, and he did! We also had several lounge chairs that were unserviceable and he repaired those too! It’s residents like Mike and many other unsung heroes in this community that make this neighborhood so great! So if you have an idea or see something you would like to improve in our neighborhood, send us an email, and we are happy to assist in any way we can! Volunteers are always needed, especially in the following ways: Fundraising Committee: Helps to raise money for the social committee with events such as T-shirt sales. Neighborhood Directory Committee: Updates the directory as needed. Secure ads for the directory to cover costs of the directory. Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CCRs) Review Committee: conducts a review of the current bylaws and proposes changes as needed. If you are interested in serving in any way, please email info@ironhorseranchhoa.com.
